Frequently Asked Questions

How can Florida Accessible Design assist me?
Florida Accessible Design is founded on the concept of helping individuals, couples and families create spaces and homes that will be free from barriers for those with physical limitations. We will work with you to help you make the most of your living space in your home and in some instances in your work place.

From the design stand point, we consult with you on the challenges that you or a loved one is facing and recommend, if possible, low cost solutions to make life easier for you. We can also recommend specific products that may solve a problem or set of problems.

How can I afford to pay for these services?                                                                                                                                                                       We work on a value added premise. You will pay a nominal, hourly, fee for your first consultation and if we can be of service to you then we will work out a contract for any further services in detail so you will have a precise estimate of the costs involved and how we may do work in stages to spread out the cost.

We know your funding may come from a variety of sources including grants, specialty loans, workers' compensation, and insurance and are happy to work with you to make the process of payment as smooth as possible by providing additional reports and documentation's as needed.

What is accessibility?

Florida Accessible Design works with employers and employees to find simple solutions to such challenges and implement them so that persons with physical limitations can work effectively.

What is Universal Design and why should it be of interest to me? Universal Design refers to planning for spaces, fixtures, and products to be of accessible us to everyone whether young or old, physically fit or physically impaired. The automatic doors at a Target store are an example as they work for all people.
